The 163 ha Agro-Environmental Platform in Estrées-Mons, dedicated to plant experimentation, contributes to the evaluation of low-input crop systems, genetic improvement and varietal innovation, notably for pea and miscanthus.

The institute has set up on the site of Estrées-Mons (80) this platform with national and international vocation, structured around three components:

  • The acquisition of basic knowledge on the functioning of soil/plant system across the agricultural parcel (long term test on the agronomic and environmental impacts of cropping systems, analysis of interactions genotype - environment: nitrogen stress, thermal stress)
  • The integration of knowledge to produce and evaluate innovations in terms of variety, cropping system, bio-technology tools and decision support
  • The transfer of research results towards development
